The vans Sk8-hi is a shoe that has been around since 1966. It is a real skate shoe. You can buy the vans sk8-hi in a Pro version or a normal version. The pro version has an extra sturdy nose, a stiff waffle sole for less wear and an Ultra cush sole for the right cushioning. Due to the high look of the Sk8-hi, it also gives more strength at the ankles. The looks of a pro and a shoe that you can buy in most stores are exactly the same. Vans
Vans is a brand that was founded in 1966 as a real skate brand. The models of that time were equipped with a reinforced nose, a stiff waffle sole and an extra set of laces. But the Vans brand slowly transformed into a casual brand. this also changed the quality. Vans sneakers have been indispensable as a sneaker on the sneaker market for years. Many people (young and old) love the Oldskool Low and the Sk-8 High because of the simple look of the shoe. The looks of these classic models have always remained the same. Skating with these (fashion) variants was just not really a success.
Dura Cap
A Dura Cap is a silicone layer that is attached under the upper of the shoe. Skaters often slide with the top of their foot across the board to get the board off the ground in one smooth motion. The top of a skateboard is covered with griptape. Griptape provides good grip while skating, but it will rub the top of your shoe. The Dura Cap therefore ensures that the upper of your shoe lasts longer.
Ultra Cush
During the craziest movements and sometimes dangerous heights you can occasionally hit the ground hard. That is why it is so pleasant to be well received. With running shoes, the sole is rounded in such a way that you come down in a smooth movement. With skate shoes you should have a flat sole to maintain the ultimate board feeling. An Ultra Cush insole ensures that you are well cushioned, while you have the good feeling with your board. Even when not skating, this sole provides soft cushioning, even if the shoes are flat.
Waffle sole
The Vans signature waffle sole can be found on almost every model. This structure provides a good grip while skating and walking. The waffle sole is now designed in such a way that it offers more grip on your big toe than on the little toe. This in turn provides better board control. The quality of rubber has also been improved with the Vans Pro compared to the fashion version. The color of the sole is often darker to show that you are dealing with Vans Pro.
