Who we are

What is Burned Sports?

Burned Sports is an independent concept store at Hinthamerstraat 39 in Den Bosch. Since 2011, we’ve been combining basketball, sneakers and casual clothing in one store. Depending on the season, we carry over 200 different shoes, including more than 100 basketball shoes and more than 100 sneakers.

We train our team on new collections, try products on ourselves and help customers compare. Not driven by one brand or a chain-store formula, but by what we believe works well and suits you.

Basketball – where it all started

We have more than 100 basketball shoes in store, from well-known brands and from brands that are harder to find in a physical store in the Netherlands. Think Anta, Rigorer, Li-Ning, 361°, Peak, Under Armour, Nike, adidas and PUMA.

So for basketball, you don’t have to choose from just a handful of models. You can try different brands, sizes and fits side by side. We look at foot width, volume, instep, cushioning, stability and how you’ll use the shoe.

That kind of in-person comparison is rare: there are only a few places in the Netherlands where you can try on such a wide range of basketball shoes in one location and compare brands independently.

Sneakers – try them on and you’ll know

A sneaker can look great online and feel completely different on your foot. That’s why we don’t just look at the model, but also at how it fits and how you want to wear it.

We have more than 100 sneakers from brands including Nike, Jordan, Saucony, Vans, PUMA, Mizuno, ASICS and New Balance. You’ll also find dressier shoes and loafers from brands such as Dr. Martens, Kleman and Playboy Footwear.

Coming in for one specific pair? Great. But feel free to try something you haven’t come across before. That’s often where the best finds come from.

Streetwear & casual clothing

Pants that hang just right. A T-shirt with the right fit. A hoodie you keep reaching for. Or something you won’t find in every other store.

We deliberately buy differently from the big chains. Some of our brands and collections are only available in a limited number of stores. We choose for ourselves what fits the world of Burned, instead of following a standard formula.

We try on new clothing ourselves. That way we know how something fits: shorter, longer, roomier, slimmer or oversized. Not sure exactly what you’re looking for? Then we’ll pull a few combinations off the racks and figure out together what works.

Seen it online. But does it fit?

Ordering online is easy.

Until a shoe fits differently than you expected. Then you order another size, wait again, and maybe find out that the model itself just doesn’t suit your foot.

In the store, you can try on five or ten shoes in a row and feel the difference right away.

We grab the boxes; all you have to do is tell us what feels right and what doesn’t.

People regularly come in for one model and end up choosing something else, simply because it works better on their foot.

How do we help you?

Every team member gets in-house product and sales training. We try on new shoes and clothing ourselves. So we don’t just know what’s on the label, but also how something actually feels and fits.

For shoes, we look at things like width, foot volume, instep and the fit you want. For performance shoes, we also factor in how you’ll use them. And sometimes the best advice is telling you not to buy something.

A customer who keeps coming back for years means more to us than one quick sale.

If we don’t have the right match, we’d rather be honest about it.

Since 2011

Our story

I was 17 when Burned started as a school project. Around the same time, I left for the US to see how far I could go with basketball. There I also saw the culture around it: shoes, clothing and brands you hardly ever came across in the Netherlands.

In 2011, I started Burned in Boxtel. From the start, I didn’t want to treat performance and leisure as two separate worlds. My father helped me as a coach in those early days; today my mother, friends and people from our community work in the business.

No head office decides what goes on the racks. We choose for ourselves. Sometimes that means trying something before the market gets it, but also saying honestly when something isn’t good enough. To us, that’s the down-to-earth Brabant attitude.

Why people sometimes drive more than two hours

Most of our regular customers come from Den Bosch and the surrounding area. But customers also come from other parts of the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany to try on, compare and check out brands they can’t easily find in a store closer to home.

For basketball in particular, that combination is special: lots of models, several brands and someone who compares them with you independently. For clothing, too, we deliberately choose collections you won’t find in every other store.

Really nice store, friendly and helpful staff. They even stayed open longer so we could make a good choice. Best basketball shoe collection. We came from Arnhem because we couldn’t find a good shoe anywhere else!

Burned has been around since 2011. In 15+ years, we’ve handled more than 100,000 orders and supplied basketball clubs for years, from amateur clubs to teams in the top Dutch league. But in the end, a real customer experience says more than us telling you we give good service.

Where is Burned Sports located?

At Hinthamerstraat 39, 5211 ME ’s-Hertogenbosch, in the city center, on the way to the Markt.

What are the opening hours?

Monday 13:00–18:00, Tuesday to Friday 10:00–18:00, Saturday 10:00–17:30 and Sunday 12:00–17:30. On Easter Monday, King’s Day and Whit Monday 12:00–17:00, on Ascension Day 12:00–17:30 and on New Year’s Eve 10:00–16:00; closed on New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Whit Sunday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Do I need to make an appointment?

No. You can walk in without an appointment, and we’re open seven days a week.

Can I try on items from the online store in person?

Yes, almost everything available online can also be bought in the physical store. Some of the larger stock may be stored off-site.

Can I get advice on basketball shoes?

Yes. We look at things like foot width, volume, instep, fit, use, cushioning and stability, and let you compare different models.

Do you also have shoes for other indoor sports?

No. Basketball is where we come from, but sneakers and casual clothing are now just as important a part of Burned.
