Yes Morant, was only 10 years old when his father made a basketball court in his garden. His dream was to be one of the best basketball players ever. With the help of his father, he had trained a lot with tractor wheels that he had to jump on 25 to 50 times during each training session, and had to train how to manage the step back jumper. The height of jumping is therefore not always determined by height or certain basketball shoes . But through determination and discipline.
Young Ja's future looked bright as he averaged 27 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists in his junior years. But unfortunately no one wanted to recognize him for his skills on the field because he was too small and not muscular. But that would all change one day when he was playing basketball and the college coach's assistant Murray accidentally bumped into him. Buying a bag of chips from a vending machine, he saw Morant playing basketball and thought this was the recruit he was looking for. He immediately called his head coach to say they found the person who wanted to recruit them.
After his recruitment, He was able to show everyone what kind of talent he had. In his 1st season with the Murray he averaged 12.7 points, 6.5 assists and 6.3 rebounds making a name for himself. Still, there were people who said that Ja was not ready for the big leagues and that he could not defend big basketball players. Yet this turned out not to be true at all, Ja showed himself by becoming Rookie of the Year in his next season with the Memphis Grizzlies and scoring an average of 17.8 points, 7.3 assists and 3.9 rebounds.
After his season with the Memphis Grizzlies, he was also invited to an NBA All-star game in his 3rd season . Yes, he showed that he is one of the best rookies of the year, but the next question is can he take the next step to superstardom?
