The NBA is known worldwide, and in America it is one of the most-watched sports on daily TV. Alongside the gigantic NFL Super Bowl, the NBA Playoffs are one of the biggest sporting events in American media. But none of this would be possible without one thing… fans. Every club runs on fans, and today we are taking a look at which celebs, besides their own careers, can often be found on or beside the basketball court.

Drake

Who doesn't know him, right? After an album drop, half of the top 40 is often filled with Drake songs. The Canadian rapper seems impossible to miss, releasing hit after hit, and he has been doing so since 2013. Besides often being found in the studio, the 6God has also been courtside more often in recent years for his hometown team, the Toronto Raptors. Drake also helped create the Raptors X OVO uniform the team has worn in recent years, and that is not all, because Drake has also been allowed to create several of his own colorways for Jordan basketball shoes, which then often sold for a hefty price.

Will Smith

In 2012, the Prince of Bel-Air managed to buy a stake in the NBA team the Philadelphia 76ers. Will was born and raised in Philadelphia himself, and his childhood love for that team never left him. Together with Jaden, Jada and Willow, they are often spotted courtside.

Meek Mill

Meek Mill is also a big fan of the 76ers and is good friends with Michael Rubin, the team's owner. Meek also used to play a lot of basketball before he started rapping. He even took part in the NBA Celebrity Game and appeared in the basketball game 2K13.

DaBaby & J.Cole

Both are big Charlotte Hornets fans; although DaBaby was actually born in Charlotte and J.Cole in Frankfurt, both have been fans since childhood. J.Cole was a good basketball player in his youth and also had the potential to make it to the NBA. DaBaby also played basketball, but never at a competitive level. His interest always lay more in music than in basketball.

Jay-Z

Another one who has stayed loyal to his hometown team: Jay-Z has been a Brooklyn Nets fan all along. Even though his wife Beyoncé is a die-hard Houston Rockets fan, Jay-Z could be found courtside at most games. In 2004, Jay-Z reportedly bought shares in the Brooklyn Nets for $1,000,000. He later had to sell them again after setting up Roc Nation Sports, a company that handles agency and PR for well-known athletes.

Quavo and the Migos

The Migos, perhaps the best-known hip-hop group ever. The group consists of Quavo, Offset and Takeoff; Quavo is the biggest basketball fan of the 3 and has been an Atlanta Hawks fan since childhood. Despite the Hawks' somewhat disappointing seasons lately, Quavo still attends most games. Quavo himself also played in the 2018 NBA Celebrity Game and won the MVP award for his performance. He played the game in the signature Lebron James basketball shoes, namely the Nike LeBron 8 South Beach.
