1 How long does delivery take? In the Netherlands, we deliver within 1-3 business days. Order before 15:00? Then we aim to ship your order the same day, and in the Netherlands you'll usually have it the next day. Delivery abroad can take longer. Weekend orders ship on Monday.
2 Can I exchange it for a different size or color? Yes, through our return portal you can easily exchange it for a different size, color or even a different product. You register the exchange, send the item back and a new order is placed for the replacement. Return shipping is free for exchanges.
3 What is your return policy? You have 14 days after receiving your order to change your mind and cancel it, and then another 14 days to actually send it back via the return portal. The product must be in its original condition and packaging.
4 What if my product breaks? Our warranty period is 100 days from purchase. If your product breaks and no longer works the way it should, report it via our warranty page — we'll assess whether it's covered by the warranty. Your statutory rights (the legal guarantee) always apply as well.

Rains Fishtail Parka Black
Deep black, matte in finish and without a logo you can spot from ten meters away. In the photo, the parka falls to mid-thigh and holds its shape: Rains' PU material is supple but hangs heavy enough to keep falling neatly. The seams are ultrasonically welded instead of stitched, so there are no needle holes in the fabric.
How does it fit, and which size should you get?
Rains cuts this model unisex and roomy, with pleats at the elbows so your arms move freely. There's plenty of room for a sweater or hoodie underneath. Sizes S through XL are in stock; check the Rains size guide for your correct size.
What keeps the rain out?
Rains gives this material a water column of 5,000 mm and calls it windproof. In plain language: a heavy shower slides right off and the wind doesn't get through. The zipper is hidden behind a placket with snap buttons, the hood has a fixed brim that keeps drops off your face, and the sleeves close with elastic. The back yoke has concealed vents, so you can let off heat on the bike.
The fishtail: where does it come from?
The extended back with the drawcord comes from the military parkas of the fifties. Pull the cord tight and the hem closes around your hips so the jacket doesn't blow open. Let it loose and the back hangs lower than the front, so you stay dry on your saddle.
What does this parka go with?
Over a hoodie and wide-leg pants, or simply over your work clothes. The black is flat and calm, so it looks good with almost any color. The two large front pockets swallow a phone and a set of keys. Rains started in 2012 in Aarhus, Denmark, with exactly this idea: rainwear you'd also put on when it's not raining.
Keeping the coating intact
Machine wash at thirty degrees, and leave it at that: no steaming, no ironing and no tumble dryer. Rains explicitly advises against fabric softener and water-repellent additives for these jackets. The brand gives a two-year warranty.
We always ask whether a thick sweater needs to go underneath: the parka runs roomy, but it’s most comfortable in your usual size. And leave the fabric softener on the shelf, because it damages the coating.
