Stars of Phoenix 

Although the Phoenix Suns no longer have the same image they used to have, they have managed to bring several All-Stars and Hall of Famers to the club. Phoenix Suns legend Steve Nash, but also names like Jason Kidd, Shaquille O’neal, Charles Barkley, Grant Hill and Shawn Marion played for the Suns for a while. Nowadays the Suns mainly focus on the younger generation by drafting players with a lot of potential, such as DeAndre Ayton and Cameron Johnson.

Devin Booker 

Devin Booker is one of the role players on the current Phoenix Suns team; he made his debut with the Phoenix Suns in 2015. On 24 March 2017, Booker became the youngest player in history to score seventy points in a single NBA game. He was the sixth player ever to achieve this, after Wilt Chamberlain, Kobe Bryant, David Thompson, Elgin Baylor and David Robinson.

Booker was selected thirteenth in the 2015 NBA Draft and joined the Phoenix Suns. In his first season, he played in 76 of the 82 regular-season games and scored 1,048 points, an average of 13.8 per game. At the end of his first year, he finished fourth in the race for the Rookie of the Year Award.

History of the Phoenix Suns 

The franchise began playing in 1968 as an expansion team, and its early years were marked by mediocrity, but its fortunes changed in the 1970s when, after teaming longtime point guard Dick Van Arsdale and center Alvan Adams with Paul Westphal, the Suns reached the 1976 NBA Finals, in what is considered one of the biggest setbacks in NBA history. However, after failing to win a championship, the Suns went on to rebuild most of the team around Walter Davis in the 1980s.

In 2004 the Suns brought back Steve Nash and immediately returned to the playoff race. With Nash, Shawn Marion and Amar'e Stoudemire, and under head coach Mike D'Antoni, the Suns became known worldwide for their fast, dynamic offense, which earned them a franchise record in wins in the 2004-2005 season. Two more top-two Conference finishes followed, but the Suns again failed to win an NBA championship and were forced into another rebuild.

The Suns have the seventh-best all-time winning percentage in the NBA and the second-highest winning percentage of all teams that have never won an NBA championship. 10 Hall of Famers have played for Phoenix, while two Suns, Barkley and Nash, won the NBA Most Valuable Player award while playing for the team.

The Phoenix Suns have never managed to bring a championship back to Arizona, but they came very close twice in the past by winning the Conference Finals, in 1976 and 1993.
