Who will be Rookie of the Year this year?

As you all know, the 20/21 NBA season is in full swing again. So far we've already seen a lot from players we hold in high regard, such as Kevin Durant, who is back from injury and scoring 28 ppg (Points Per Game), Steph Curry, also back from injury, who recently scored 62 points, and our beloved James Harden, who is currently scoring 33 ppg and sits at the top of this season's scoring leaders list. Still, we're also looking forward to an important award for players who have just started their careers: Rookie of the Year, also known by the abbreviation ROTY.

Recap of the draft

Last year there was an NBA draft again, just like every year before, though this one was perhaps a bit different from what we're used to. In the end, 60 new players were still selected who can now start their NBA careers. Let's take a quick look back at the top 5 picks for those who have forgotten. At number 1 we had Anthony Edwards, drafted by the Timberwolves, then James Wiseman, drafted by the Warriors; third we had the most popular player in the draft, Lamelo Ball, drafted by the Hornets; at number 4 we have Patrick Williams, drafted by the Bulls; and finally, at number 5, Isaac Okoro, drafted by the Cavaliers.

The race

Of course, each of the 60 drafted players wants a shot at the Rookie of the Year award, but only 1 can win. Lamelo Ball is in 1st place for many. Can he keep it up until the end of the season and prove many people right?  Wiseman and Edwards aren't doing badly either, but they play in a different way and position than Lamelo, so they'll have to step it up a notch. Right now Lamelo is averaging 11.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.9 assists. Edwards, on the other hand, is averaging 13.9 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2 assists per game, and Wiseman is averaging 11.4 points, 6.3 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game.

Only just started

The season has only just started, so we can't name a winner yet, because anything can still happen. All we know is that all these guys are showing the potential to become great. All we can do is sit back and enjoy the show.
