A private jet with a sneaker contract.
In January, National Basketball League analyst Corey Homicide Williams revealed that the future lottery pick had been offered a private jet and a sneaker contract by an unnamed sneaker company. Jermaine Jackson said "I just had one of my sources from America on the line, who just told me that a sneaker company has offered LaMelo Ball a private jet and $ 100 million dollars," Williams said via Twitter. In January, Williams refused to tell me which sneaker company has him on its radar. "They're not going to lose Melo," he said via text. “They're going to do everything they can to make this offer with the sneakers happen. In my opinion, this company knows this is a unique opportunity. The Melo hype is as big as Michael Jackson. Take your pick. When I appeared on the Monday morning edition of the Scoop B Radio Podcast, I asked Williams about the chances of LaMelo Ball signing with Puma and getting a jet at his disposal from the sneaker company. "Who is the first company to offer a player that," he told Scoop B Radio. Williams stated "It wasn't Nike. It was Reebok. Reebok offered LeBron that deal first. Reebok offered LeBron the same deal, you know what I mean? So okay, it could possibly be Reebok. It could possibly be a collaboration with Puma basketball shoes. He was on the Puma jet and the conversation that started. I'm not saying anything has been signed, but I'm just telling you that I know for sure that Jermaine Jackson and ‘Melo sat down with Hov. For those who don't know, Jay-Z (Hov) is creative director of Puma.
The livestream
On 21 February, Lonzo Ball's manager, Jermaine Jackson, started an Instagram Live broadcast from an airport with a private jet. The broadcast did not come from his main Instagram, which is under the username: purplegoat1, but from a second account. This secondary account, which is under the username: make_someone_smile_everyday, does not directly identify itself as Jackson's account. It has a photo of him as its profile picture and consistently posts about Jackson's son, Jermaine Jackson Jr. The account has also posted photos and videos of LaMelo Ball’’. During the Instagram Live broadcast, the plane's registration was shown, and it reads: N444SC. "As everyone saw, or maybe missed, he presented himself in the air with the jet," Corey "Homicide" Williams tells Scoop B Radio.
Roc Nation
'The talks had started. Because you don't put something like that out if you're not on board. These guys don't do that, they come from money. The Puma brand is as strong as ever, even though a lot of people knock it, but it's relevant, so it's not like he's a poor inner-city kid, that typical story, that's not it. You know, I think of what Jay-Z has done, him and his Roc Nation team, the title and countless other things they've done at Columbia University. Everything he has done for society and for schools. What I really like, respect and appreciate is the fact that Jay-Z has wealth. He has generational wealth. He has earned his money. And what I mean by that is that he doesn't need anyone to dictate what he wants to do. That's a leader, and he empowers his own leaders. He gives others strength. He got the bag, now we want to make sure we spread the wealth. We have ours. We don't do it to be greedy, because we've made it. And we're going to empower everyone as long as they are able to empower themselves. And that's how you change the narrative, you know? It took two generations to get a Jay. It took two generations to get a LeBron. These guys. These men. These leaders of our communities and the world need to be protected. We need to protect them. Because no one but us will give us strength. Not the way they do it’’ said Tyler Perry. These people need to be protected. From that summary of what they do and how they move, Black Excellence evolves. You have to love it. And that's what I'm going to say about that". According to the report by Athletic's Shams Charania, LaMelo Ball agreed to a deal with Puma at the end of August, possibly including basketball shoes. However, since the report came out on 26 August, there has been no further update on the reported agreement.
