The Air Jordan 35, the Jumpman family's newest offering on the basketball market, will finally make its way to hoop fans around the world this month. Two releases are lined up to hit shelves in October, including the multicolored "Center of Gravity" version and the "Warrior" edition, the latter being the newest piece revealed through official images and co-sponsored by the athlete and Washington Wizards forward Rui Hachimura.
Rui Hachimura
“Rui grew up in Japan as half Japanese and half Beninese and battled adversity and discrimination as a child, but it is the perseverance, purpose and pride embodied by his Asian and West African heritage that have shaped who he is today: a warrior,” the brand wrote in its product description for the Air Jordan 35 "Warrior." This variant of Michael Jordan's latest signature sneaker features a red and black color scheme, mainly on the mid-cut upper with the new Flightwire system on the sides, along with a Kurim cage underneath for lockdown. To channel Hachimura's warrior spirit, the Kanji-inspired samurai logo, designed by his mother, is stamped on the tongue. The look is completed by the Eclipse Plate 2.0 combined with Zoom Air bags in the midsole and a cement-inspired outsole.

"Integrating premium materials and textures was a priority for the Air Jordan XXXV," Jordan Brand footwear designer Tate Kuerbis said in a statement in September. “The brand has a history of giving these materials an aspirational quality on Jordan basketball shoes. When players see it, when they touch it, they feel like they have the power of the Jumpman behind them. Everything we do has to trace back to making the best basketball shoe in the world.” With a straightforward two-tone aesthetic, the upper of this hardwood-ready rendition features a Chicago Bulls-friendly combination of solid black synthetic bases paired with vibrant 'Challenge Red' tones injected into areas such as the suede forefoot overlay, tongue and heel tabs, and the speckled cables running across the midfoot. Down below, the midsole's Eclipse plate carries the same shades, only finished with a glossy, candy-coated gradient of red toward the bottom half. The design is also capped off with an all-gray outsole decorated with white and black speckles. If you're interested in adding these to your rotation, you can expect them to arrive via Nike.com and select retailers on 21 October for € 170 EU.
