We've already seen the latest signature releases from Damian Lillard and Donovan Mitchell, among others, and now adidas is bringing out the latest for their main man: James Harden. The Harden Vol. 5 is The Beard's newest weapon for dominating the court, with a fresh aesthetic thanks to designer Jalal Enayah, who previously worked on Jordan Brand's Westbrook products for Jordan basketball shoes.

James Harden

James Edward Harden Jr. (born 26 August 1989) is an American professional basketball player for the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He became one of the most prolific scorers in the NBA and earned recognition as the best shooting guard in the NBA, [1] [2] and as one of the best players in the league. [3] He played college basketball for the Arizona State Sun Devils, where he was named a consensus All-American and Pac-10 Player of the Year in 2009. Harden was selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder with the third overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft. In 2012 he was named NBA Sixth Man of the Year with the Thunder and helped the team reach the NBA Finals, where they lost in five games to the Miami Heat. Harden was traded to Houston before the 2012-2013 season. In 2018 Harden led the league in scoring and was named NBA Most Valuable Player. He is an eight-time NBA All-Star and has earned All-NBA Team honors seven times, including six first-team selections. Harden is a two-time member of the United States national team and won gold medals at the 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2014 FIBA World Cup.

Adidas Harden Vol. 5

The look may be new, but the 5 does share some similarities with the popular Harden Vol. 4, namely the textured midsole, the lower-cut ankle and the slim shape. Things have been updated on the side profiles, which use a synthetic textile instead of mesh, while the overlays on the midfoot let the laces through. In addition, Harden's personal ‘H’ logo and signature hit the tongue, as the medial walls are dressed with ‘Created W / James Harden. Vol. 5 Chapter 1 / printed text from the maker. As for the color, the ‘Why Not' vibes come through, with Rockets red combined with randomly colored accents that make for a playful debut for the new shoe, and it is highlighted with Boost technology. One of the inaugural colorways seen here is designed with a bold red upper, which is fitting because it matches the Rockets uniforms, combined with multicolored accents presented through paint-like splotches across the entire upper half. Take a closer look here at The Beard's newest pair and the matching box, and expect them to appear in the coming months via adidas.com and select retailers. Finally, Solar Red hits the outsole with Multicolor Boost branding. There has been no official announcement from adidas yet about the launch of the release. However, you can expect pairs to arrive worldwide in the coming months, with Europe as the first region to receive stock. It has been confirmed, though, that the basketball shoes will come out in the year 2020. This shoe will be made available on the market within roughly the next 2 months.
