1 How long does delivery take? In the Netherlands, we deliver within 1-3 business days. Order before 15:00? Then we aim to ship your order the same day, and in the Netherlands you'll usually have it the next day. Delivery abroad can take longer. Weekend orders ship on Monday.
2 Can I exchange it for a different size or color? Yes, through our return portal you can easily exchange it for a different size, color or even a different product. You register the exchange, send the item back and a new order is placed for the replacement. Return shipping is free for exchanges.
3 What is your return policy? You have 14 days after receiving your order to change your mind and cancel it, and then another 14 days to actually send it back via the return portal. The product must be in its original condition and packaging.
4 What if my product breaks? Our warranty period is 100 days from purchase. If your product breaks and no longer works the way it should, report it via our warranty page — we'll assess whether it's covered by the warranty. Your statutory rights (the legal guarantee) always apply as well.

Vans Old Skool Pig Suede Sneaker Green
The Old Skool has been around since 1977 and is the first Vans model with a stripe on the side. This version is done in dark green pig suede from top to bottom, right down to the stripe itself, and sits on the white sidewall that comes with the model.
What is pig suede, anyway?
Pig suede, as the sneaker world calls it, has a shorter and denser nap than the usual calf suede. You can recognize it by the small pores in the surface, where the hairs used to be. It feels a little stiffer but can take more, and on a shoe you wear every day that’s more of an advantage than a disadvantage.
The stripe that came about by accident
Vans calls the stripe on the side the Jazz Stripe, and founder Paul Van Doren drew it in 1977. The story goes that he came up with it as a random doodle and that it simply stuck. On this version the stripe is made in the same green suede as the rest, so it only stands out through the different direction of the nap.
What does that waffle sole do?
Under the shoe is Vans’ waffle tread: square blocks of rubber with space between them. That pattern was created for skateboarding, where your sole has to stay planted on the grip tape. On the street you notice the same thing: this rubber grips a smooth sidewalk better than a flat sole. The toe is also reinforced, right where a shoe wears through first when you skate.
Green on green: how does that read?
Dark green comes across calmer than you might expect. Because the stripe, the toe and the collar are all the same color, the shoe doesn’t break up into separate panels. What remains is the shape and the white sidewall underneath. That looks good with dark jeans or black pants.
Caring for suede without the hassle
Let mud dry first and then brush it off with a suede brush; cleaning it wet only pushes the dirt into the nap. A suede protector spray protects against a rain shower. The shoe doesn’t belong in the washing machine. The inside is lined with checkered textile, and that has been the same at Vans for decades.
Bart der Weduwen, assistant store manager: this green is so dark that it looks almost black indoors, so take it over to the window before you choose. Pick up a suede brush while you're at it, because the nap flattens first at the crease by your instep.
