Saucony ProGrid Omni 9 Sneaker White / Orange
An off-white running shoe from 2010, now as an everyday sneaker. The ProGrid Omni 9 has gray and green-gray panels, a black toe and an orange accent along the heel.
Where does the Omni 9 come from?
Saucony released this model around 2010 in the Omni series: running shoes for runners who wanted extra guidance underfoot. What was performance technology back then is now something you wear on the street. You can see its origins in the built-up sole and in the upper of fine mesh with pieces of synthetic material and leather layered on top.
What does ProGrid do underfoot?
ProGrid is the name Saucony gives to its own cushioning. The midsole has a layer that absorbs the impact of your heel and spreads it over a larger area. Above it, a sturdy piece of plastic runs over your instep and keeps your midfoot in place as you roll through your step. You notice it most on long days: it feels soft underfoot without your foot sliding sideways.
How does it fit?
Our own product data lists the Omni 9 as true to size, in a regular width and with a round toe. If you normally wear your usual sneaker size, you’ll probably be fine here. To be sure, check the size guide on this page.
What weather is this mesh made for?
Open mesh lets air through, which is nice if you keep the shoe on from morning to night. It doesn’t keep out rain, and the light parts get dirty faster than on a dark shoe. So for a wet workday outside, grab something else.
We recommend the Omni 9 to people who walk a lot and like the built-up shape of an old running shoe. Only 40.5 and 49 are left in this pair, so feel free to come try it on in Den Bosch.
Do you love the look of a running shoe from 2010? That’s what this model used to be.
Do you spend whole days standing on tiles? The ProGrid layer absorbs the impact on your heel.
Prefer light shades? Off-white with gray and an orange accent.
Do you wear size 40.5 or 49? Those two are still available in this pair.
Are you really going to run in it? This model is now a sneaker; for your training, check out our Saucony running shoes.
Do you walk through rain and mud every day? Off-white mesh shows it; then go for a dark shoe in smooth leather.
