3 What is your return policy? You have 14 days after receiving your order to change your mind and cancel it, and then another 14 days to actually send it back via the return portal. The product must be in its original condition and packaging.
4 What if my product breaks? Our warranty period is 100 days from purchase. If your product breaks and no longer works the way it should, report it via our warranty page — we'll assess whether it's covered by the warranty. Your statutory rights (the legal guarantee) always apply as well.

Rains Fishtail Parka Comet
Many people know the Fishtail Parka in black. This is the same jacket in Comet: a metallic bronze brown that looks almost dark brown indoors and takes on a coppery glow outside. The cut falls to mid-thigh and holds its shape, because Rains' PU material is supple but heavy enough to keep hanging neatly.
Where does that fishtail hem come from?
The extended back with the drawcord comes from the military parkas of the 1950s. Let the cord loose and the back hangs lower than the front, so you stay dry on your saddle. Pull it tight and the hem closes around your hips, so the jacket doesn't billow up as you cross the bridge. It's the detail the jacket is named after, and also the most practical thing about it.
What keeps the rain out?
The seams are welded shut instead of stitched, and Rains rates this material at a 5,000 mm water column; in plain language, a heavy shower runs right off and the wind doesn't get through. The zipper is tucked away behind a snap-button placket, the hood has a fixed brim that keeps the drops off your face, and the sleeves close with elastic. Hidden vents sit in the back yoke, so you can let off heat when you pedal hard.
How does it fit, and what do you wear it with?
Unisex with a roomy cut, with enough space for a hoodie underneath. The two large front pockets swallow a phone and a bunch of keys. Bronze brown is easier to pair than you'd think: it looks understated with black, cream and olive, and makes an outfit just a little less stark than a black jacket does. Over wide pants and a hoodie is the most obvious combination, and exactly what Rains designed it for.
How to keep the coating intact
Machine wash at thirty degrees, and otherwise leave it alone: no dry cleaning, no ironing and no tumble dryer. Rains explicitly advises against fabric softener and water-repellent additives for these jackets. The brand started in 2012 in Aarhus with exactly this idea — rainwear you put on even when it isn't raining — and offers a two-year warranty. It hangs in our store in Den Bosch in S through XL.
We sell this parka most to people who bike every day, and we always point out the drawcord in the hem: pull it tight and it won’t blow up on the bridge.
Do you bike to work every day, even when it’s pouring?
