1 How long does delivery take? In the Netherlands, we deliver within 1-3 business days. Order before 15:00? Then we aim to ship your order the same day, and in the Netherlands you'll usually have it the next day. Delivery abroad can take longer. Weekend orders ship on Monday.
2 Can I exchange it for a different size or color? Yes, through our return portal you can easily exchange it for a different size, color or even a different product. You register the exchange, send the item back and a new order is placed for the replacement. Return shipping is free for exchanges.
3 What is your return policy? You have 14 days after receiving your order to change your mind and cancel it, and then another 14 days to actually send it back via the return portal. The product must be in its original condition and packaging.
4 What if my product breaks? Our warranty period is 100 days from purchase. If your product breaks and no longer works the way it should, report it via our warranty page — we'll assess whether it's covered by the warranty. Your statutory rights (the legal guarantee) always apply as well.

Rains Alta Puffer Jacket Comet
Comet is the name Rains gives this bronze brown, and it is not a flat color. In the photos you can see how the shade shifts across the quilted panels from warm copper to almost dark brown, depending on how the light falls. Indoors it looks dark and calm; outside in the sun, the metallic comes through. It's the kind of color a photo never quite gets right.
What do you notice about the fabric?
The outside is the smooth PU material that made Rains big: cool and smooth in your hand, and water beads up on it instead of soaking in. The seams are double welded instead of stitched, so there are no needle holes anywhere for rain to creep through. The jacket weighs 1,260 grams, which you feel when you lift it but not when you wear it — the fill is light, the weight is in the outer layer.
How does it fit, and where does your stuff go?
The Alta has a roomy cut, with space for a sweater or hoodie underneath. Rains deliberately keeps the line clean for a puffer: the baffles are wide, so you get less of the Michelin Man effect than with narrow stitching. Inside there's a zippered chest pocket, and on the side two hidden pockets with fleece lining — your hands stay warm without a visible zipper. The hood is lined and has a drawcord.
What do you wear Comet with?
Bronze brown is calmer than black and works better with olive, cream and dark blue. In the photos it's worn over olive green wide-leg pants, and that combination of a warm top layer with a matte, calm bottom works well with the volume of a puffer. If you want to keep it understated, pair it with black.
How to keep it looking good
Wash at thirty degrees with the zippers closed, without fabric softener and without waterproofing agent. Those two damage the coating, and it's the coating that does the work. Do not tumble dry and do not iron. Rains started in 2012 in Aarhus, Denmark, and gives a two-year warranty on its jackets. We hang this one next to a regular black winter jacket when someone is unsure: Comet changes color as soon as you walk from inside to outside, and you can’t see that in a photo.
