Push Sports Thumb Brace Gray
Anyone who has sprained or hyperextended their thumb finds out just how often they use it: catching a ball, blocking, everything. The Push Sports Thumb Brace is there so you can keep playing. It supports the base of your thumb and limits backward movement, exactly the direction in which things usually go wrong, while your fingers and palm stay completely free.
Support where it's needed, freedom where it's possible
The brace is made of sturdy material around the thumb joint with elastic straps around it. You pull it on like a fingerless glove and close it around the wrist with a hook-and-loop strap, as tight as you like. Catching, dribbling and writing remain perfectly possible.
Which size and which hand?
The brace comes separately for the left and right hand, each in sizes S, M and L. Measure the circumference of your wrist and check the size guide; the right size makes the difference between support and a brace that slips.
When do you use it?
During sports, when your thumb needs support after a previous injury or is sensitive under load. If symptoms persist or you're unsure what's going on, have a physical therapist or doctor look at it first; a brace supports, but it doesn't make a diagnosis.
We mainly recommend the thumb brace to players who want to start catching again after a sprain: the palm stays open, so you keep your feel for the ball. If you’re unsure about left or right, look at the hand you catch the ball with.
You’ve hyperextended your thumb and still want to keep playing sports
You play in goal and catch balls with your hands
You’re going skiing after a previous skier’s thumb
Your thumb feels unstable under load after an old injury
If your wrist bothers you and not your thumb, choose a wrist brace; this one actually leaves the wrist free to move.
If you’ve just injured your thumb and don’t know what’s wrong, have a doctor or physical therapist look at it first.
Measure the circumference of your hand and choose left or right, because the brace is hand-specific.
If you’re between two sizes, Push itself recommends taking the larger one.
S, M and L are in stock for both hands.
Polyester
Hand wash it in lukewarm water with a little soap and rinse well.
Close the hook-and-loop strap before washing, otherwise it picks up lint. Then let it dry flat.
