Puma MB.01 Thermal Basketball Shoe Green
A bright green base, and above it an upper full of red, yellow and orange patches that blend into each other. Black lines trace the shapes. The tongue reads 1 OF 1, the heel carries LaMelo Ball's logo. The midsole is sculpted with angles and planes instead of a smooth edge.
Where does that pattern come from?
From a thermal imaging camera. A camera like that shows warm spots in red and cool spots in green, and Puma laid exactly that transition over the upper. Hence the name Thermal. Puma itself calls the colorway Fluro Green Pes with Puma Red.
What does Nitro foam do under your foot?
Nitro is foam with nitrogen blown into it. That keeps it light and makes it spring back when you land on it or push off. You notice that especially in the second half of a practice, when a heavier shoe starts to count. Under the foam sits a rubber outsole with tread, for grip on a quick stop.
Which player is the MB.01 built for?
For LaMelo Ball, a guard who plays with the ball in his hands a lot and changes direction quickly. So the shoe is kept low. Puma lists the width as wide: if you have a wider foot, that's good news, and on a narrow foot, on the other hand, you get too much room.
Also for korfball and volleyball
A basketball shoe is also an indoor shoe. The same sole and the same support do their job in indoor korfball, handball and volleyball. We still have sizes 42, 44.5 and 45. Check Puma's size guide for your correct size.
We mainly recommend the MB.01 to players who play indoors and have a wider foot. If you have a narrow foot, try it on in the store first.
Do you play guard and make lots of quick cuts? That’s what the MB.01 is built for.
Do you have a wide foot? Puma lists this model as wide.
Want to stand out on the court? Few shoes have a print like this.
Do you play indoor sports like korfball or volleyball? The same sole works there too.
Looking for a shoe that doesn’t stand out? This colorway draws attention; a plain black basketball shoe is a better fit.
Do you have a narrow foot? The model runs wide and your foot will have too much room.
Do you only play outdoors on asphalt? Choose a model with a thicker rubber layer, which lasts longer on concrete.
Check the Puma size chart for your correct size.
