361 Degrees Joker 1 GT Nikola Jokic Basketball Shoe Champagne
Nikola Jokić is a multiple-time NBA MVP and plays center: big, heavy, and with a game built around position rather than speed. His signature shoe at 361 Degrees matches that. This Champagne edition is off-white with a golden glow, with an embossed pattern that runs across the entire upper and a translucent sole underneath.
What does a carbon plate do in a basketball shoe?
The sole of the Joker 1 GT contains a carbon fiber plate, which the brand calls Qu!kBONE. Carbon fiber is stiff and light at the same time. That stiffness keeps the sole from twisting when you put your weight on a single point during a turn. For a heavy player this matters more than for a light one: the more kilos go through the sole, the sooner it gives out. The midsole also has CQT foam, which is light and springs back when you push off.
Where does the pattern on the sole come from?
Under the shoe is a diamond tread. That pattern comes from the folk art of the Balkans, where Jokić is from, and it's not just decoration: diamond shapes grip in multiple directions, which is what you need when you're pivoting in the post. 361 Degrees states that this sole lasts twenty percent longer than the previous one.
Champagne with embossing: what do you see up close?
From a distance, this is a plain off-white shoe. Up close, you see that a pattern has been pressed into the material across the entire upper, in the same color. There's a small black label at the heel, and the outsole is a translucent honey color. Beyond that, there's not a single contrasting color on it.
A shoe for a big man
The last is wide and the collar comes up over your ankle, with a notch at the back so you can still bend. Support runs along under your arch to keep your foot in a good position during play. Suitable if you play under the basket, have a lot of contact and do a lot of post play. If you're a quick guard who prefers to stay as low to the floor as possible, this isn't your model.
How heavy does it feel on your foot?
The brand lists 382 grams for a US 9. For a shoe with a carbon plate and a collar that comes up over the ankle, that's on the light side, and you notice it most in the second half of a game. We currently have 42.5, 43, 44 and 47.5 in stock. Check the 361 Degrees size guide before you order.
Joar Beurskens, senior sales associate: try these on first with your own socks and bend your knees for a moment, because the plate in the sole is stiff and that feels different the first time than a shoe without a plate.
Do you play under the basket and take a lot of contact? This sole doesn't twist with you.
Do you have wide feet and always feel pinching at the ball of your foot? 361 Degrees lists it as wide.
Do you practice twice a week in the gym? The hard outsole wears slowly.
Do you also play korfball, handball or volleyball in the same gym? This sole can handle that.
Are you a light guard who wants to stay low to the floor? Then look at a lower model from our 361 Degrees range.
Do you play outdoors on concrete every week? Concrete wears down any indoor sole faster; choose a model with an outdoor sole instead.
Are you careless with your shoes? This off-white shows stains quickly; choose the Denver version in darker colors instead.
Check the 361 Degrees size guide and measure your foot length; that's what the brand itself recommends.
The last is listed as wide, so there's room at the ball of your foot.
We have 42.5, 43, 44 and 47.5 in stock. You can try them on in Den Bosch.

Wipe the sole with a damp cloth after every practice, so the grip lasts.
Off-white needs attention: remove stains right away with soapy water and a soft cloth.
Don't put them near the heater.
