The founding of Exercitia '73 has its basis in 1972 in a reunion for former Exercitians in the old ALO. Some names from the very beginning were: Martin Haak (first chairman of BV Exercitia '73), Eddie Roggen, Enno Vos, Wolter Coopman, Jules Huisman, Frans Krips, Jelte de Boer, Otto Tanczos, George Straatman, Marijke Teisman (secretary in Groningen and also in the first board of BV Exercitia '73), Maria Carlier and Herman Teisman. During this reunion there appeared to be sufficient enthusiasm for a basketball club in Eelde Paterswolde. In 1973, the year of the new founding, there were already 54 members. The youth trained in Haren at the Maartenscollege (arranged by teacher Paul Jongma, also a member of the first board in Eelde). It was George Straatman and Herman Teisman who (together with Jan Hunze) drove back and forth to Haren with the first youth teams to train them there in the gymnasium at St Maartenscollege. They were also the ones who selflessly fulfilled various management tasks for the club (including training/coaching, TC work, BB Foundation, board positions, etc.). Without them the club would never have gotten off the ground. The seniors trained at the horticultural school in Eelde. In 1974, Exercitia was only able to move to its current location, the Marsch sports hall, which at the time only had 1 hall. In 1975 the 150th member was already added. In 1979 the first champion team was welcomed: the boys' aspirant team became district champion. Now years later, we can say that BV Exercitia '73 has made its mark in the basketball world. Championships are celebrated every year. Several players have reached the Premier League and Exercitia has also had 2 teams play at national level. In 1985 to 1987 the women's team played in the first division and in 2006-2007 Exercitia played in the national U22 competition. The 40th anniversary was celebrated on June 1, 2013. About 250 members and former members came together to play basketball, eat and celebrate. The Wall of Fame sign was also unveiled on this day. Currently (2013) Exercitia has one of the largest numbers of youth members in the North and 4 senior teams play in the Rayon classes. Not bad for an association close to Groningen that was revived while enjoying a beer.

Our standard collection currently consists of a club uniform, crewneck (sweater), training long sleeves, shooting shirts and t-shirts in different colors on which clubs can choose multiple designs. Some clubs choose to keep the competition clothing or merchandise in-house. The items can be seen in the webshop, but can only be ordered from the club.

Delivery and conditions
Most team shop items are specially personalized, so delivery time may be longer than 1-5 days. The items chosen are always in consultation with the club.
