The first training of the Boxmeerse Basketball Club Akros took place on Friday January 3, 1975. An enthusiastic group of 20 ladies and gentlemen formed the basis of an association that quickly grew into a full member of the Boxmeerse sports world.

Already in the season '75 -'76 the board was able to register 2 teams to participate in the Brabant competition, Rayon Zuid. They started in the 3rd class and from that year the name Akros (Greek for excellent) appeared in different categories of boys and girls. The association grew in membership and for a number of years was one of the largest basketball clubs in Brabant.

In the sporting field, the stay of the Men 1 team in the Rayon big league (season 1982-1983 and season 2000-2001), and that of the Boys and Girls juniors at the same level, are some highlights.

Now after more than 40 years Akros is an association where young and old can enjoy basketball at various levels.

Product Range

We notice that members often look for a specialized store that can offer everything in the field of basketball and indoor sports. In our physical store and our webshop we offer everything when it comes to: Basketball shoes, Basketball Clothing and Basketball Accessories.

Currently, our standard collection consists of a club outfit, crewneck (sweater), training longsleeves, shooting shirts and t-shirts in different colors on which clubs can choose multiple designs. Some clubs choose to keep the competition clothing or merchandise in-house. The items can be seen in the webshop, but can only be ordered from the club.

We try to make improvement steps every month and expand our range!

Delivery and conditions

Most team shop items are specially personalized, therefore the delivery time may be longer than 1-5 days. The items that are chosen are always in consultation with the club.
