The battle of the bro's!
A new season and a whole bunch of new players. So it's no surprise that you sometimes run into family members on the court. There have already been quite a few who are also active now, like Seth and Steph Curry or Giannis, Kostas and Thanasis Antetokounmpo. The newest duo, and the duo everyone was waiting for, was Lonzo and LaMelo Ball.
Destined
Their father told them from a young age that they would all play in the NBA, and it almost came true. Except for the middle of the three, who now plays in the G League, it is still a dream come true for their father. The oldest son plays for the New Orleans Pelicans and the youngest plays for the Charlotte Hornets. They all had their own unique path to the NBA, but they made it all the same. Lonzo took the traditional route from high school to college to the NBA. LaMelo, on the other hand, took a completely different route: at sixteen he went pro in Europe, then went back for his final year of high school, and after that chose to go to Australia for another year as a pro, but now he's made it too.
Who's better?
On the night from Friday to Saturday at 1:30 a.m., the time will finally come for the first duel of many more. They both play the point guard position, which means that when they're both on the court, they'll probably have to guard each other. They both have a similar team; in principle, neither is much better than the other. The only thing is that Lonzo and the Pelicans have won one more game than LaMelo and his Hornets. They both play in a similar way, which also shows in their stats, so it remains to be seen who will perform better tonight.
Wait and see
We can't predict yet who's going to win, but we do know it'll be a fierce battle. Of course you want to beat your little brother, or else you'll look a bit foolish. The only thing we can do to find out is turn on the TV tonight and enjoy.
