The Los Angeles Lakers have become NBA champions for the seventeenth time in their history, equaling the record of the Boston Celtics. LeBron James's team closed out the Finals series 4-2 by winning Game 6 against the Miami Heat 106-93.
A strange season
There's no denying that the 2020 season was no ordinary period in which everyone could just do their own thing. There were also many ups and downs this season. Club icon and NBA legend Kobe Bryant passed away, the coronavirus broke out so players could no longer play in their own arenas, and the Black Lives Matter movement also left its mark on the sports world. Despite these circumstances, LeBron James and his team still managed to keep a cool head and close out the season with a sparkling high point.
James's fourth title with a third team
LeBron James was named the best player of the NBA Finals, which means he has now won four NBA titles with three different teams. He had previously won championships with the Miami Heat in 2012-13 and, of course, with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016.

James was one of the main reasons for the win against Miami. He put up 28 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists, and also made his presence felt on defense. Rajon Rondo also stood out, putting the Lakers up by 28 points at halftime.
A promise is a promise
"It means a lot to me to play for this club," James said as he took off his Nike basketball shoes after a long game "When I came here in 2018, I already said: I'm bringing this club back to the top. That's where the Lakers belong."
Only Michael Jordan has more accolades than James, with six NBA titles and six Finals MVP awards as well. "But I put James above Jordan," Lakers coach Frank Vogel said afterward. "In my eyes, he's the greatest ever."
Better times
This year the NBA finished the season in a coronavirus bubble at the Disney World complex in Florida. "Now that we can finally leave here after months, we want to see better times too. We all have to work on that together," said LeBron James.

During the long stretch in the ‘’Bubble’’, players were not allowed to see their partners, families and friends for a long time; later, a maximum of 2 to 3 people were allowed to watch from the sideline at a distance of 1.5 meters, but they had to leave the arena right after the game.
Even though the players spent much more time on their own as a result, they didn't sit still: Jimmy Butler came up with the idea of opening his own coffee stand, and Lebron managed to create a new colorway for his own LeBron James basketball shoes.
