Every year, the Super Bowl is the world's most sporting event. Although the stadium will not be completely full, it is guaranteed to be a fantastic event. This year the Kansas City Chiefs will compete against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Last year, coach Andy Reid's Chiefs also reached the final and even won it. This year they have to defend the title against coach Bruce Arians' Tampa Bay. In this blog we look at both teams and what we can expect from them.

The Kansas City Chiefs

The reigning champions already started the season as one of the favorite teams. They lived up to that status again by reaching the Super Bowl. This success is mainly due to their quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The 25-year-old QB is already seen as the future of the league, but he obviously won't do it alone. He has a very talented team around him, tight end Travis Kelce, wide receiver Tyreek Hill, running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire and safety Tyrann Mathieu are just a few of the names of the super team from Kansas City.

The biggest danger for Tampa Bay is the Chiefs' offense. The Chiefs have a top player at every position who is capable of making plays and scoring. But certainly don't destroy the defense either.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers

For Tampa Bay it is not so obvious to be in the final. It has been 19 years since they won a Superbowl, in 2002. Yet they already started this season as one of the favorites. This is because they have invested heavily in new players and especially in one man, Tom Brady, AKA ''The Goat''. The 43-year-old Quarterback came over from New England this year, where he reached the Super Bowl 9 times and won 6. So he knows better than anyone what it is like to win this title and tries to do this trick in Tampa Bay. But no matter how good Brady is, he obviously can't do this alone. He also has a very strong team around him that he can always count on. Players like wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Goodwin, tight end Rob Gronkowski, running backs Ronald Jones and Leonard Fournette ensure that Brady always has someone to pass the ball off to.

What the Kansas City Chiefs have to watch out for the most is clearly the offense. With a QB who always sees an opening and who doesn't stop until the clock runs out, the Chiefs defense has a hand full on Tampa Bay.

Super Bowl LV

The event will take place on Sunday, February 7 and starts at 00:30 Dutch time. Every year the halftime show is a spectacle and this year it is up to The Weekend to make it something special. This edition of the Super Bowl will be held at Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Florida. Yes, you read that right, this stadium is home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Buccaneers are the first team in history to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy in their own stadium.
